Pastor, Apostle James L Pressey is the founding Pastor of the True Worship Church of Christ. The plan and vision materialized in March 2008, and on April 6, 2008 Apostle Pressey and the members of the True Worship Church of Christ held their the first service. Apostle Pressey was ordained and installed as the pastor of the True Worship Church of Christ Inc. on August 3, 2008, and joined the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International.
Apostle Pressey is a family man who loves his family, his church, and anyone he encounters. He says "Ministry is about people. God is glorified when the people understand and practice the love that He modeled; God giving the ultimate gift, His only Son, Jesus the Christ." He attended The New York School of the Bible, Berean Bible Institute, Queens College & York College, pursuing currently a degree in speech communication.
In 2004 Apostle Pressey, a few local politicians and some concerned individuals founded the Peninsula Preparatory Academy Charter School in Far-Rockaway NY. He served as the founding treasury, and then later as the schools business manager, overseeing the day to day operations. On September 13, 2014 Apostle Pressey was elevated to the office of State Overseer of the Northeastern Region while serving with Kingdom Destiny Fellowship International. He was appointed as the First Assistant to the New York State Regional Overseer. Apostle Pressey served as a member of N.C.E.M., National Conference of Effective Ministries, under the leadership of Overseer Regina V. Johnson, his Pastor. In 2016 Apostle Pressey was asked to serve as the Chairman of the Board for the Hi Hello, Daycare and After School program in Freeport New York. Working now for the NYC Department of Education as Parent Coordinator at PS/MS 147, The Ronald McNair School and now the Family Leadership Coordinator for NYC Community School District 29. In this role, Apostle Pressey has an opportunity to encourage, motivate counsel and assist families and children to chart their course through their academic success which leads to their destiny.
Apostle Pressey is married to Elder Tessa Williamson-Pressey and is the father of two daughter Tiffany and Teanna, along with a host of spiritual sons and daughters that refer to him as Dad. Apostle Pressey is a Tailor, Author, DJ, Preacher, Teacher, and Friend.
